I am sorry to hear that there is such a lack of female neurosurgeons.

Female neurosurgeons
The sad part about this is that what speak about is very true. No embellishment what so ever. Many times I have confronted physicians and told them "by the way I am not your maid". I have spoken several times to fellow colleagues regarding the many inequities that exist between healthcare providers. I am always left incredulous.

I really feel for the students who were all set to see their heart's desire and goal of being a Midwife come closer to reality and truly I feel bad for the women who won’t have the educated midwives they deserve and have a right to have at their side. This is a heart breaking thing and can not be allowed to happen.

Wow... the alterations are something I would expect from family, but not from certified medical interpreters. I realize that saying some of the things we have to say is very hard, but accurate translation is so important.

This is amazing - I had no idea there were still people using iron lungs! And to lose her life because of a power failure...very sad.

Um... I would have thought that limiting the number of work hours for residents would have resulted in lower patient mortality presumably from less mistakes made by tired doctors. I guess I did not consider that it could have had a detrimental effect on patients. I still don't really see how it would have hurt patients.

These are pretty much for people who have an anomaly scan at 20 weeks and unexpectedly find something seriously abnormal. Most 'social abortions' would be done before 12 weeks. Also many doctors and nurses are now refusing to do these on religious grounds. Having said that it is the law.

BBC NEWS | Politics | MPs back 24-week abortion limit
"In modern Britain the most dangerous place to be is in your mother's womb." Ouch! 24 weeks is pretty far into it for a social abortion (98% of abortions as the article states). I'm a little surprised that a woman who's that far along, has felt kicks and turns, could do that just because she didn't want to be pregnant. I'm all for a woman's right to choose... but geez. Make up your mind a little earlier! I wonder what the cut off is for the rest of the world.

I don't know about this. Patients can edit their own information... what happens when you get someone unreliable? Someone mentally ill? It's great that it's web-based. Web based applications are compatible with any operating system, any computer... but I'm not sure how accurately it can be maintained.
